The Hkey User-S-1-5-21 main level has a sub section on the right panel. It has Default (empty) and under default is location Location has data referencing my Freebyte/treepadbiz8 location in the program folders on Drive C The Software subfolder in the Hkey User S-1-5-21 has a Freebyte with the Treepadbiz8 details Can I modify the entries beside the main Hkey User S-1-5-21 ...i.e. remove that location entry? Are the programs still installed? If so removing any entries referencing them may cause them to fail. Properly uninstalling a program should remove the Registry entries but as everyone knows that doesn't always happen.

If they are in the C:\Program Files Folder they could be 64-bit as you show a 64-bit version of Windows in your System Specs. If they are 32-bit programs they will be in C:\Program Files (x86) Folder on a 64-bit OS. Now if one has a 32-bit version of Windows only the Program Files Folder will exist.

This entry I'm referencing is NOT BELOW the main HKey in the Software folder. It is an entry in the main HKUS-1-5-21 in the right side section of the registry where its possible to edit by right clicking. I would expect that area to be empty but it has Default and under that is location: It is an actual path using the data label LOCATION C:\program files\Freebyte\TreepadBiz8 The software subfolder listed below S-1-5-21 contains the correct Freebyte\Treepad info Just seems odd to me that this path is in there.
