HL2 crash

Hello guys!!
Wanted to ask for help!
I got windows 7 and after the last CS:S update (what was in August 25) it's impossible to play normal CS:S :/ When im connecting to a server i got an HL2 crash and only with combination ctrl+alt+del its possible to close the game.

I can think of two solutions.

1.
Verify integrity of game files

To do Open steam
Right Click on CS:S
Local Files tab
The click Verify integrity of game files.

Then after that De fragment cache files.

2.
Run steam in compatibility mode.
Make a shortcut to steam on your desktop.
Right Click
Compatibility tab
Your choice of xp-vista.
apply
close steam
restart steam using the shortcut you made.
