Hello,
I installed a new hard drive (Seagate 1TB Barracuda) on a 4 yr old Pentrium D 3.4GHZ Intel mobo. The system locks-up all the time with no warning. I've reinstalled Win 7 64bit several times after reformating but I still the same problem. Locks-up usually occur with no BSOD.

See 2 attachements.

Thanks for you help.

PS. Sometimes system will unfreeeze after a few minutes then freeze again. Also when replace the orginal HD with Win XP everything works fine.

Please help!

Based on the age of that system, there are probably some very old chipset drivers etc that could be causing some problems. The fact that the old HD works fine, indicates to me that something is not playing nice with windows 7, or it is the HD.

Also, have you replaced any other hardware?

Follow the instructions in this thread:
http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...-driver-verifier-identify-issues-drivers.html

Hopefully this will help pinpoint if it is a driver and if so, then which one.

Post back using the bsod posting instructions with any minidump files generated by driver verifier.

Good Luck
