Dumb question here: I have just one computer. When I connect to the internet via dial-up, my computer says I'm part of a network and it wants me to choose between Public Network and Home Network.

I'm assuming the "network" detected is my dial-up connection and that I should choose "Public Network". Am I assuming correctly, or is my network type selection irrelevant to my dial-up settings.

Thanks.

The security is different between the two. Unless you are out looking for wifi hot spots "public", then you should use the Home networking feature, although the workgroup may work better for you.
