I have a HP laptop and desktop both with Windows7 64 bit, home network set up with file and printer sharing and all seems to work pretty well and easy to use. The problem is once either of the computers goes to sleep it is no longer seen by the network. Is there a way to wake up the other computer without going to the other computer and bumping the mouse?

Windows 7 has quite a few wake on lan and power management features, the link below shows you how to set it up.

Keep in mind that updated drivers may be required for these features to work correctly.
