I have Win7 Home Premium 64bit. I realize that Home Premium does not support Vi ritual XP. My question is, has anyone heard if Microsoft may in the future enable it in Home Premium? I downloaded Virtual Machine, but it won't do me any good.
Thanks.

XPM is only for business people so Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate are the only choices. I reccomened to install VMWare Workstation 7 and install XP. Activate a setting called 'Unity' and you basically have XPM on a much better app with much better performance and support

VMWare Workstation isn't free...but you can at least try it and decide from there. Remember that VMWare Workstation can emulate more than XP...I have personally emulated Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, Ubuntu GNU/Linux 9.10 Karmic Koala, Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME, 98, and 95

VMWare Workstation may not be free, but VMWare Server is... And Server is easier to manage virtual machines along with a lower memory footprint.

You can download Windows Virtual PC or any of the third party VMs. However the home editions of Win7 don't include a licence for a second OS to run in VM, so you need (a) installation media and (b) a licence key to create your own XP VM.

That is tru but the Workstation edition also has more features that may be desirable to the OP
