Well I'm new here so first I'll say hello. I'm having some homegroup issues. I'm trying to view my Windows Media Player library on another computer on my home network. I finally figured out how to make my laptop library show up under the "Other Libraries" tab in windows media player on my other computer. The only problem is that none of my songs are showing up. I went into the homegroup and enabled all the sharing/streaming features. When I click the check boxes to enable certain file sharing such as Music, Videos, Printers, etc. and click save it appears to save my selectionions, but then when I open it back up all the boxes are un-checked. I think this may have something to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

yes it is running the exact same build. I can get my other computer to show up in my laptop's media library and i can configure the homegroup settings on it no problem, but its the opposite for my laptop.

I'am not sure why your settings aren't staying set but try opening up Windows Media Player and do this. In the first window put checks where it shows then choose Options and set to "allow" in the right side window.

Is the problem machine an in-place upgrade, or is it a clean install? Have you tried using a workgroup to see if there are other network issues?
