Solved Homegroup Troubles

I am trying to connect my laptop and my netbook in a homegroup (both have windows 7) so that I can share files. I joined the netbook's homegroup from my laptop.
Now my netbook shows the laptop in the homegroup, but my laptop says that there are no other computers in the homegroup and lists my netbook as a media device in the network.
Any suggestions as to how I can make my laptop recognize my netbook as a computer?

It's important to point out that just about any Antivirus software will prevent those machines from seeing each other so configuring access through the A/V may be required.

When in doubt it's best to leave the Homegroup from all machines then create a new one then rejoin, you might try creating the Homegroup on the laptop this time then join that Homegroup using the netbook.

For some strange reason, setting it up on a different machine works better sometimes.
