I previously had similar issues with the beta builds of 7 with no real 100% resolution. And now I am having similar issues. I have Windows 7 Professional x64 on both my Desktop and Laptop but they seem to fight a little when it comes to the Homegroup.

It worked PERFECTLY this morning, I was sharing files, streaming, everything... but later they just stopped seeing each other. I was able to get them working again, but I added 2 more files to the desktops homegroup sharing (homegroup: read/write) and when it was done sharing, no connection. Now no matter which PC I create the homegroup on, the other won't see it, and running diagnostics doesn't find anything wrong.

Hello,
HomeGroup seems like a good idea at first, but has been a real hassel to use. On rethinking the issue I dropped HomeGroup altogether because it doesn't do anything that networking your PCs the old fashioned way wouldn't do. But n/e how, I found HomeGroup to start having problems when Windows Firewall service stops or is disabled and/or any of the Peergroup services are stopped.
