Horizontal adjustment for onboard Intel graphics LCD TV

Hello,

I just joined this site today because I can't seem to find an answer for a problem I am having. I have been on this site quite a bit just to find answers, and it seems to be very helpful.

Ok, so I have a low profile Dell computer in the living room hooked up to an LG LCD TV. It did have an ATI graphics card which used the PCIe slot, and a USB stick for wireless internet. The wireless stick wasn't working great so I've just got a wireless card installed, however it also uses PCIe and there is only one slot. As the computer is not being used for games, the wireless card is much more valuable to have in the slot.

When I had the ATI card in there though I could use CCC to adjust the screen over slightly (there is about an inch cut off on the left side of the screen). It is not a spanning/stretching issue, merely just needs a nudge to the left and it will all be good.

I have just installed Intel Control Center, but when I click on monitor/tv settings it says that they are not supported. There is no option to adjust this in the Windows 7 display options either, so I'm not quite sure what else to try.

Anybody know of a work around for this issue?

Is it not showing the right resolution? If not, this guide got mine working right:

No the resolution itself is fine, it's just that it's a touch off center. I don't know why it does this, it did the exact same thing when I had the ATI card in there, and I was constantly getting a blue screen when trying to get CCC working before I could finally just move it about an inch to the left.

Now that I have taken the ATI card out and I'm just running it off of the onboard video it's right back to the same issue. I just got Intel Control Center but it doesn't have the option change any monitor settings.

Most monitors have controls on the monitor itself for changing horizontal and vertical position. But since it's a TV and not a regular monitor you might not have that option. My Insignia TV does not have the options to change position.

Yup.

Already looked through all the settings on the TV when I had the problem the first time. I thought for sure that the ICC would have a simple fix in there, but was disappointed to see that it is not supported for some reason.

There must be some version of ICC that has that part hacked or unlocked or some kind of work around, all I need is to just tap it to the left haha. Such a simple problem, and can't seem to find a solution.

The fix on the page I linked to before might do the trick. Basically what it has you do is find the exact input that works best for the monitor, and have you put it into the Intel driver. Personally, I don't bother messing with the Driver installer as that method can fail pretty easily. I just skip to the part about editing the registry. With my TV, it would only show 800x600 at first, but after using the fix it lets me set it to the exact resolution of my TV (1360x768) and I have to say it looks amazing for such a low resolution.

Hm.. Is there anything about location in that though? It's just that the resolution is fine at 1920x1080 which is what the TV is, but its just shifted slightly. I'll take a read through your post again to see what all it has.. thanks for the replies

Yeah it seems to be more of a fix for skewing/stretching. Frustrating little problem. Everything works pretty well but that little gap is just annoying, little things like right now I have the browser maximized and its enough that the scroll bar is completely off the screen. I wish that it had the features in the ICC I don't know why it wouldn't be supported...
