I have W7 32 bit on my laptop and W7 64 bit on the desktop, both Home Premium. Every time I go online with the desktop it starts a download according to NetLimiter. The download appears as Host process for Windows services and it expands to process 720 and then to 92.122.126.243:80. I use 3G mobile broadband for my net access and this download could use a considerable amount of my Gb allowance.

Using NetLimiter I can kill the download but I would like to know what is happening and do I need the download? Some idea of the d/l size would be handy as well.

None of this happens when I log on using the laptop. If anyone can illuminate the subject for me I would appreciate it.

These are windows services that run from shared dll files. See if you can open task manage, right click on the svchost.exe that is connecting to the web. Right click on the process and choose Go to service(s). This will open the services tab, and the particular services that svchost.exe is using will be highlighted. From there it will at the least, be easier to tell what the service does. A Guy

P.S. The IP 92.122.126.243 which is connecting on port 80 is AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES. this is often used by windows, and even 3rd party applications. If you blocked it, you might be blocking DNS lookup, or even Windows updates. This could create problems for you. You could experiment by blocking it with a firewall rule, and if you notice any broken usability, unblock it.
