I'm using HotSpot Shield on a x64 system, never seen that dialog.

Maybe you should try to uninstall it, then download the latest version here and reinstall. After reinstall it sits nicely in the notification area. You can connect, disconnect or go to properties by right clickng the notification icon and choosing an option.

I can not reproduce your error, how much I try.

Did you do as I told you? Download the latest version and reinstall it. There's no need to start HotSpot Shield manually, it installs itself to your notification area.

If you install it correctly, you don't have to worry about this kind of errors. Remember to allow installation of HSS Network Adapter, if asked:

If you just hit Enter when this dialog appears, it is not installed because default choice is Don't Install.

Then simply right click the icon in notification area and choose Connect when you want to hide your IP.

Basically, the only way to get this error is that TAP VPN driver is not installed. Did the reinstall ask about that driver I told you in my last post?

I think the problem is TAP VPN driver. If so, the only possible solution I can think of is to do a system restore to a point before you installed HotSpot Shield first time, and then reinstalling it being sure when install asks the permission to install TAP VPN you click YES.

Other than that, I really don't know. I'm using HSS a lot, almost daily, and it's never caused any problems.

Yes, of course. Remember to install AV and firewall to your Virtual XP, it can not use the ones installed on your host system. Use MSE or some other freeware AV solution. XP Mode download here.

If you install HSS to XP Mode before you have installed a firewall, it might not ask the permission to install TAP VPN. If it asks, remember to click YES.

i solved the problem by opening xp mode, installing hotspot shield, and then copying the link, from the internet to my firefox window it worked fine..
anyway, i think thers some problem for some reason windows can not open browser windows from programs.. like if i like register in avast it dosen't open internet window and in other programs..
anyway.. hotspot shield was a bust anyway, beacuse it streams videos to slowly..
