Hi,
I am running Windows 7 X64 bit SP1. I had my hard drive reformatted and the Tech mistakenly installed Windows Security Essentials instead of McAfee VirusScan, which I had previously installed. I am also running Windows Mail Live which I need to retain. How can I uninstall Windows Security Essentials without disturbing Windows Live Mail? Thanks for your help. :)

when you click uninstall in control panel, you will look for the option to uninstall a program or more from a list, and it will allow you to select which to uninstall.

It won't uninstall all "essential" programs, only the ones you select

You could also leave MSE on the computer and deactivate the real time protection of MSE to prevent interference with another AV with real time protection. You could then always use MSE as an on-demand scanner which is not a bad idea.
You may have to go off-line, then deactivate the real time protection of the other AV before running the on-demand scan of MSE to be sure your main AV does not interfere with that scan. Be sure to update MSE before you run it.
