I like the 2tb WD My Book Model: WDBFJK0020HBK-NESN EXT HDD, but don't want any of the apps that come with it. I want to delete their software on the ext HDD. I read some where that the factory apps can not be removed. Can anyone confirm this. I just want to make this a Plain Jane EXT HDD

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
I would not delete them. They take very little space and you never know when they may come in handy. But if you really want to delete them, I would also say that a reformat should do it. Else a Clean command in command prompt.

That's what I was thinking Whs, but in one of the many reviews I read, someone wanted to do the same thing but could not get rid of the bloatware. Maybe he was going about it the wrong way. I had no problems reformatting my old WD 500gb HDD to rid of some junk I did not want.
