How can I install old printer with CAB files??

My brother bought a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 7. He would like to use his old printer but the original drivers do not work with Win 7. Searched the Internet for HP drivers leads to dead end. Found some on the Microsoft Update Catalog but when we downloaded the files they were CAB files and we don't know what to do with them. There is no exe or inf or setup. How do you install CAB files for an HP printer??:sarc:
