How can I play Blu rays on VLC?

I have VLC version 2.0.4, so I'm up to date, but cannot play blu rays. I know this version can , but I cannot for some reason. I do use powerdvd to play blu rays, but I realized that if I paused them for close to 10 mins, it'll stop, then an error message will appear saying that it won't play. I want to use VLC as a alternative way to play BDs. I heard about dl-ing a cfg file and a dll file that involves going to appdata; but I wanted to ask around before I screw around in my VLC folder(s).

There must be, but how can I play BDs (old and new) on my VLC?

From what I just quickly read, you may have to strip the drm first. Seems like a roundabout way to me, but.....

Those are what I dl-ed, and I'm having trouble finding my appdata folder. But I wasn't really keen on messing around with the contents, so thats why I was asking.

EDIT: Here's something: VLC can't play DVDs either. It works fine on anythign else I dl-ed and play from my computer. I tried WMP by accident, and it fuzzes. Hmm, somethign may be up, along with wanting to play BDs on VLC.

The appdata folder is a hidden folder. You have to turn on the setting under folder options to show hidden folders.
