I agree the page layout is a train wreck. You are missing the point that the M$ website coding is just fine. Website design includes page layout and coding; each are not the same as the other. The incompatibilities of websites with IE11 is due to poor coding by the websites' designers. I've seen websites with excellent page design and poor coding, sites with poor page layout and excellent coding, sites where the page layout and coding sucked, and sites where the page layout and the coding were excellent.

I would like to thank all those who contributed to this post and let you know that I have at last managed to get IE 11 running normally. I tried the various options mentioned but found the one that seemed to work for me was doing a Clean Boot as suggested by ThrashZone's IE Tweaks by removing all Windows Services in the Start Up menu. Although it has left me with a rather bland interface which funnily enough I prefer, it appears to have got my PC back to speed particularly on start up where previously I waited ages for SVCHOST.EXE and WMiPRVSE. EXE to stop hogging my CPU. Many thanks again.

Hi,
Post a couple of screen shots of the msconfig startup and services sections so we might see what is up
Don't forget to check the box to Hide all M$ services first
Cheers.
