How can I use Windows Photo Gallery now SQL Server 2005 is obsolete?

Having finally sourced a brand new laptop with Windows 7 Pro installed, my computing life was back to normal! I found a couple of small differences to my previous Home Premium Edition, but nothing drastic that I could not handle ... with the exception, that is, of Windows Photo Gallery and the ability of it to function! I received an Error message informing me that I needed to download Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Compact Edition. Naturally, anyone reading this will already know that particular programme is long dead! Of course I had no idea of this at the time, and was extremely alarmed to see I had downloaded it for nothing! The question now is, I cannot find an update which appears to be free of charge, and I really would like the Gallery to function as it did with Home Premium. Can anyone advise, please. I would be very grateful.

Pro is a superior version of Home, the base programs are identical.
So why your getting this message, download Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Compact Edition
is unusual and as you said is way out of date.

Im wondering if you've been sold a lemon, so please
look at the attached screenshot, WPG is part of the media section, it should be ticked like mine,
a blue box indicates not all options installed
(if not please tick it, a reboot may be required to enable the fuctionality)
and copy/paste the results of this tool,

Hi Roy,

My Control Panel page looks exactly the same as your screenshot. The Media box is checked, so I really don't know what's going on here. On browsing this issue, I notice that others have been affected and presented with the same error message. While this glitch may not exactly be life and death, I'd still need to use WPG if I want to create a certain screensaver. It's always been rather convenient, if nothing else. Btw, I'm not a football fan so I won't take offence to your remarks about Pro and Home!!!

There are loads of screensavers available
Go via personalization, (right click anywhere on the desktop)
then click on the Get more themes on line
