Hi,

I'm using Win7 Ultimate with service pack and in the process of installing World Ship 16 we encounter error 26. Upon calling UPS for tech assistance they are telling me that the error is cause by the Password Complexity settings in Win7.

So I searched online and found in Microsoft that by searching for secpol.msc I can change the settings on my computer. However, I can't. I can see the menu, enter the properties, see the options, but they are grayed out. I repeated the process and made sure I access this as an admin to no avail.

I also tried this on my Win8 professional computer... same problem. So I figure, since they are on my network I need to change the settings on my server. So I access the settings only to see they where "Not Defined", regardless I changed the Password Complexity to Disable, and ran the cmd command gpupdate... Nothing!

Can you tell me what I've done wrong? Did I miss something? or is there a better way to do this?

Hello Contfe,

I can't help you with the greyed out options, but regarding your initial problem, you might want to look at this tutorial:)

Thank you,

But those are the steps I followed, only to be stoped by the fact that they are grayed out... I need a fix for that, or an alternate way to disable the password complexity.
