How do I clean computer

The computer is completely corrupted..It corrupts all the clean USB flash driver.It multiplies itself over a couple of times.It wont allow to install any software..I browsed the MS site and found this..will this help??

It won't hurt to try it it, but if you can't install any software how are going to try it?

Considering the state your computer is in, I think a complete hard drive wipe and Windows reinstall is called for here.

If you don't have a Windows DVD then it'll be a factory restore assuming you have either the recovery discs or a recovery partition.

I thought I could clean as it would boot from USB before the OS.will that corrupted even then..That computer has 3 partition..I formatted the C drive but still the virus was able to damage the files due to its presence in the other drives..I probably can`t format it because it contains important documents

You might be able to use a bootable rescue CD to scan all partitions if your BIOS is set to boot from CD/DVD as first option.

But if your machine is as badly infected as you suspect, a clean install might be your best option.

Move your important data files to an external media - external hard drive, USB stick or blank DVD, whicher you have, and then wipe your drive before re-installing Windows.

It'll be the quickest way in the long run.

The issue is that as soon as I connect a USB drive it gets infected..Wont defender help?

Hi,

From your description, you sounds like you have a significant number of self-replicating Trojans, and there is no telling what else has been dropped on your PC.

I agree with SeaVixen - a clean install with a format, after backing up your data files, is probably the easiest and safest method of cleaning this up.

You mentioned USB flash drives being corrupted? Use Panda on another clean computer to vaccinate a new USB drive, and then backup to that new drive:

You obviously have a serious problem that leads me to repeat: follow Golden's excellent advice before backing up what data you can then wiping your hard drive and re-installing Windows.

It'll be quicker in the long run, trust me.
