I have a Samsung R580 which has a chiclet style keyboard. They keyboard is great and all but dirt just gets stuck under they keys. I want to get out all debris out if the keyboard without actually taking apart all the keys.

How do I do this?

You can unplug it from the PC and take a damp rag and just run it over the keyboard and get that "ground in dirt" out.

Can of compressed air.

For awhile you could buy what amounted to a flashlight with a blower instead of a bulb, at places like OfficeMax. Too bad they made them so flimsy. They died after a couple of months. Good idea badly implemented. I never see them around anymore. Guess it's like those battery powered brooms. Once they start dying it discredits the idea.

Cheap home solutions to cleaning a keyboard:
  • Blu Tac
  • Damp cloth
  • Vacum and keyboard flip (bang it lightly so all the crap falls out of the keyboard)
  • Fine toothbrush/paintbrush
More expensive options (not overly pricey):
  • Can of compressed air.
Make sure you don't remove the keys to clean, You will most likely regret it in the end.

Hope that helped. :)

I vacuumed my keyboard, and every single key got sucked up. That sounds stupid, but I had to dig around inside the vacuum to get all my keys back. Don't do it. Don't chance it. Instead, go with a can of compressed air and try to bow it clean. Actually, you might could purposely take the keys off and then clean the keyboard, but I wouldn't go through so much trouble.

Get a can of air.

What kind of keyboards are you using? I use a Rigid shop vac to my keyboard and I haven't lost any keys.

I'm not sure what the brand of the keyboard was, but it came stock with an HP. Thinking more deeply now, I think it was a flimsy keyboard anyway. I' now using a Logitech keyboard, and I don't think the keys could get sucked up. Regardles, though, I'm not trying it.

After my "flashlight blower thingie" died, I got one of these:
Amazon.com: Black & Decker 18-Volt Pivoting-Nose Cordless Handheld Vacuum: Home & Garden

I have stock issue HP keyboard. If you use the little brush attachment there's no way you're going to pull the keys off the board. I'm still using the HP keyboard from a machine I bought around 2001 or so. It's not heavy like the old IBM 101 but it's not that flimsy.
