Hello,

I just bought a new printer because my old one will not work properly anymore. How do I clean away any documents that might still be in the old printer?

Anne

What brand and model is the printer?

Many printers, especially inkjets, don't have any memory at all - they rely on the operating system's print spooler.
The printers that do will have flash memory or a hard drive. The printer would be very old, very large, and very expensive to have a hard drive.

You can clear flash memory by unplugging the power cord and leaving it unplugged for at least 5 minutes or so. You might press the power button too.

If you suspect the printer may have a hard drive you would need to open it up and look for one. This is fine if you are disposing of it anyway.
