I just realized there are suggestions at the bottom after you post a new thread which I did a minute ago.

Unfortunately I used the word OPEN so all the suggestions are for that. I rephrased my questions with the word CLOSE. (Sorry, but who knows when someone will respond.)

UPDATE:

I immediately got suggestions for other posts which I read.

I went to block certain ports again, monotoring with CurrPorts, and I realized we are talking about apples and oranges. The BLOCKING function when you create a rule in Windows Firewall only lets you block REMOTE ports!!!!!
No wonder there is no action. The ones I "blocked" are open LOCALLY... Jeez.

So how do you close LOCAL ports????

The confusion is how windows works you can block ports and no one can connect from outside to that port. But any software running on the PC can open the port and then people can connect on the port having plug and play set let's anything use ports. There is also closed ports which can be seen but not connected to then Strath ports which can't be seen
