When I double-click a message to open it from my inbox, the message opens and the people pane appears below the message. The people pane is from my social connector. However, this position is a bad default. The panes should be side by side (left and right) not top and bottom.
The marketplace is full of inexpensive laptops with good horizontal resolution and poor vertical resolution. It's bad enough some fool thought to split up the least available screen resources with a top and bottom look instead of going right and left side by side. Then, the rest of Microsoft followed along and shipped the product that way.
So, is it possible to alter the view so that the social information is to the right or left of my message when open?
