How do I fix a Dropping Internet Connection

Hi. Since September I've had issues with my internet connection dropping repeatedly. It happens frequently, and everything I've tried to fix it has failed. It's really annoying and I've been trying my best ever since it started happening to fix it. I have a Dell N5110 Computer with an Intel Centrino 1030 Network Card.

Here are some things I've tried to fix the problem:

Disabled IP Helper Service
Disabled IPv6
Turned off Power Management settings for my Network Card
Flushed DNS
Changed Channel for my Network Card from 1 to 11 and vice-versa
Deleted Network Profile and started clean
Used Troubleshooter
Updated my Network Card Drivers
Updated my BIOS drivers
Went to Dell Livechat

This is the only device on my network that gets any sort of network issue, and the problem seems to be just with Windows 7 as I've heard of people with the same exact setup as me having the same problem, and then reverting to Vista or XP fixed the issue. Also when I use the troubleshooter, it will find the problem and fix it, but the problem will come back. It said the problem was the Default Gateway was unavailable.

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated, if I have to I might just take this to a computer repair shop and see if they can fix it.

What model router do you have? And when say you chagned the channel do you mean 1 thru 11 or only between channel 1 and then channel 11? May be try a channel in the middle like 8 or 9. According to intel website your card should be used in low to moderate wifi traffic. So there could be a lot of wifi signals in your ares so changing the channels around might help. Also anything like a cordless phone or something in the 2.4Ghz band being used around the Dell?

It said the problem was the Default Gateway was unavailable.

In the WiFi card properties it's worth checking you have not got it set to "green ethernet" or "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" as well as to optimise Rx/Tx settings, jumbo packet settings, etc, etc...

If the OS is allowing the device to become dormant then you will indeed risk the error message in the part quotation above. Consult the card specification for a list of compatible advanced settings - but for the power settings just ensure they're as I suggest.
