How do I fix "Superfetch"

A Windows update was accidentally interrupted, resulting in Windows running extremely slow. I ran a diagnostic test/repair program from a Microsoft Support site. The results stated that several problems were repaired, but two problems remain. They are:
1. "SuperFetch" is not working properly
2. Several programs are running at the Startup
Windows is still running so slow that I can not use the laptop.
Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Press Start and type services.msc
press Enter
Press continue on UAC window
When the services window opens scroll down to superfetch
Right click on it and select Properties
Under Startup Type select Automatic
Under Service Status press Start
Press Apply, Ok
Close the window
Restart.

Try that to fix the superfetch.

You could also try disabling superfetch service, restart and then reenable it and set it to automatic.

Now it mentions in the original post #1 an update was interrupted so what about as system restore to before then and redo the update?

You could try the Check for Performance issues troubleshooter in Control Panel

And you can look in the Event Viewer for recent errors and warnings.
