How do i install window 7

Hi to you all. I have HP 255 which i bought with windows 8 installed in it which is not functioning well, and i wish to convert it to window 7 ultimate which i have bought on a disc.please forum i have never install a window before, please i need step by step process on how go on to install the window 7. without loosing my files.

Hello Chriseba, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This may be able to help, but you will need to back up anything that you do not want to lose since you will not be able to save anything while downgrading to Windows 7.

Why not let us help you fix what isn't working well with Windows 8 instead of downgrading to Windows 7?

You need to know that it may not be possible to easily "downgrade" a new Win8 PC to Win7. Before you charge into this, you need to go to the HP site and confirm that Win7 drivers are available for the machine you bought.

I've had no problem upgrading any Windows 8 PC to Windows 7.

Let us know what happens when you follow the tutorial Brink provided. There may be some settings changes needed besides disabling Secure Boot in BIOS setup. If there are problems let us know what the settings choices available for CSM, UEFI, Legacy and BIOS Boot Priority. Camera snaps showing all choices are helpful.
