How do i install Windows 7 on my computer on my computer which has a Linux Ubuntu as an OS?
I downloaded the ISO image and mounted it using mount.sh
And then i press the setup.exe and then it tells me " Windows setup cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. To install windows, make sure that a partiotion on your boot disk has at least 727 megabytes (MB) of free space. Error code : 0x80070490"
Please somebody help me !!

Have you created a partition to install Windows 7? If so,...go in the Sources folder and run setup.exe from there, it should allow you to choose custom install and select the created partition.

If you don't mind overwriting your linux install, then just burn the ISO to a DVD and boot off of it. WIndows will auto install, formatting the root drive in the process. (Or you can go to advanced settings and install it in a second partition or a second drive, but it will overwrite the linux bootloader)

If you want Linux and Windows to dual boot, that's a bit trickier...

Personally I use WIndows as the base OS and then run linux in VMs. MUCH easier to manage if you don't need anything too hardware specific for your linux purposes...

I think the best way would be to first burn the ISO image on to a DVD to create a Windows 7 setup DVD. The free version of Burnaware should do this for you.

After that use the Acronis Disk Director Suite for creating partitions on your hard disk. Many people prefer partition wizard (Free Partition Magic alternative. Free Partition Manager Software for Windows 7/VISTA/XP/2000 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2000.) but I like Acronis more as it appears more user friendly to me.

Now as you are perhaps wanting to have a dual boot PC with Linux Ubuntu and Windows 7, you come back here and ask for further guidance after having carried out the above tasks.

But even better would be to get in touch with a computer savvy friend of yours and request him to do the needful. You sit an watch so that next time on you can do it all on your own.

Yes, but run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to be aware of any issues.

Win7 is driver complete in the installer, with newer drivers delivered quickly after install via optional Windows Updates. Put your wireless or Ethernet driver on a stick or CD just in case, so you can get online quickly to get driver Updates.

After install I would only import any drivers missing in Device Manager. Do not change out drivers unless performance dictates doing so. Then get them from the Support Downloads webpage for your model device.

There are tips here for getting a perfect factory OEM clean reinstall which you can adapt to make your install best: Reinstalling Windows 7

You can download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor (Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows) from Microsoft and run it. It will tell you if it is possible to install Windows 7 Ultimate on your system.

Otherwise off-hand from the configuration given, it seems to me that there should not be much of a problem except maybe for display of which you have not given any details.
