How do I move 'Libraries' from C to D?

My hard drive is partitioned with my C: having 679 GB and my D: having 698 GB. I'd like for files (word, mp3, jpg etc.) to be in D: and to keep program files in C:. So how do I move the 'Libraries' directory from C: to D:? Can it be remapped or do I need to copy/paste everything over and make a new Library in D?

Libraries are just pointers to a folder or group of folders. I store all of my user data on D as well, so I just point the Documents Library to D:\Documents, etc.

Yes. Libraries are virtual locations. They are not situated anywhere, but makes a shadow copy of your user folders (and other folders as custom included).

If you are just wanting to save HDD space, then you might consider this below to be able to access the files from any location in your libraries instead of moving user folders.

• Create a new folder at any location you want.
• Move any files you want into the new folder.
• Include the new folder into a library of your choice.
• If you like, you can also set the new folder to be the default "save" to location for the library as well.
