How do I paste a snipping tool picture into gmail

Win7 64 bit. I want to capture a portion of my screen with snipping tool, and then send it in an email using gmail. When I paste it into the Compose screen of a new email, it looks fine but the email has nothing in it when received. Is using Outlook mandatory?

Also, I want to use the snipped pictures as inserts into forums to show examples.

Welcome to the Seven Forums
Use the Browse button and navigate to your picture it will be an attachment then.

hi philchenevert, and may i echo bongo by welcoming you to sevenforums,

you'll need to save the snip as a file first, then attach it to your mail.

you can also insert images inline - ie embedded within the text, placed wherever you like, rather than as an attachment.

gmail doesn't give you this option by default, so you'll have to go into the gmail settings (the cog) >> labs >> scroll down to 'inserting images' >> enable

this will give you a new button in your email composer:

On this forum, you can attach pictures with the paper clip. Just browse to the picture file > Attach . Upload.

Not all forums have that facility though. For those you have to upload the picture to e.g. Photobucked and paste the IMG code into the posting.
