I have inadvertently removed all the details in the details option which shows the bit depth and a myriad of other meta data when I select a music file and click on options then click on details. How can I get that information back?I have tried everything I can think of and done many searches but here I am asking here now.
I use dbpoweramp to get all the meta data and I use that information regularly but not anymore since it's gone,my bad.

If your are referring to explorer.
On the row which have Name, Size, Dates, etc.
Do right-click, and you can select what to show.
If you right-click and click on More.... options.

No,when I select an album to play from my music folder and open it,then select a track, then right click on the track and select properties, then select details,I do not get all the details that used to show up,one of the many details was bit depth as an example, not there now.All gone.

On the Details page below there is this:

Remove Properties and Personal Information

Click on it, another windows pop-up: Remove Properties

There are 2 radio buttons:
1. Create a copy with all ..... this will create a Copy of the selected music file, on the same folder.
2. Remove the following... this will enable you to scroll and select or remove.

Not sure what you are getting at but that doesn't restore all the missing information.Under details I have 1 area of 10 lines of information, there should be many headings with many more lines of information under each heading.Right now I have Properties and Value beside that, then the list of 10 lines of info under those entries. There should be multiple entries. But now I have a copy with all the same information,no missing info added.

Unless you have a complete backup, you'll probably have to manually re-enter the info yourself. :(

There are music tagging programs that claim to be able to populate music metadata (using online databases) but whenever I've tried them they haven't lived up to their claims (or they've made things even worse).

I have 24,704 Files, 2,030 Folders in my music folder so entering by hand, which I can't do anyway, would be out of the question but since I have no way to enter that info it doesn't matter. My dbpoweramp enters the meta data but I need a way to have it display,it was there but I inadvertently removed it and now I'm trying to get it to display again. My backup is the same way,no info.I also have jriver media center which can also enter meta data but it still won't show up in Details.I also bought Perfect Tunes but that didn't do the job either.
Oh well it looks like this is another one of those issues that I won't get resolved, the joys of having a computer.

Set a Default View Template in Windows Explorer for Any Folder
Been there done that. That's the view I now have.If I right click on the jpg folder with the album art and click on properties and select details I get the long list of details for the artwork. That is the kind of information missing for each music track, not artwork info but track info.If I re-rip a cd I still get the default view and not a repopulate details view. The meta data is kept somewhere on my computer since dbpoweramp grabs it but it's just not showing up in the details panel. It's not the end of the world but I regularly used that info, now I can't.How do I re-populate that view with all the meta data?
