I have a Seagate GoFlex Desk external backup drive. It is running out of space and I have two old PC's data on this drive. I would like to remove the data to free up space. When I look at the drive with Explorer I can only display and copy the drive or files. There is not a delete option. Any assistance is greatly appreciated..

Hi ter1999, welcome to the Forum.

When you say you are using Explorer are you actually clicking on Computer, which should show on the menu when you click on the Start Orb. The drive should show up in hard drives available & if you right click, with the mouse on that drive it should show a list on software & files installed on it. You should then be able to delete whatever you wish from there. Leave the drive attached & then open Recycle Bin & empty the bin. Then remove the drive in the usual way when it says it's safe to do so.

Thank you for your replay. Let me add some details..... Yes, by Explorer I am opening 'Computer' from the start menu.. When I do that I get two entries for the Seagate external drive. One is exactly as you mentioned. It shows up as Seagate (E:) drive. I can access that and delete anything visible. The issue is; There are three computers backed up on this drive. The only data visible from this view is data from the PC the drive is attached to. Now there is another section on the Explorer window called 'Other'. Under this are two entries, one for iCloud (which I expected) and one called 'My Replica'. When I click on 'My Replica' it shows me a folder for each of the 3 PCs backed up. I can open each of those folders and look at the data within. If I right click on anything my only options are to explore or copy. And yes I can copy the file to the PC if I like. Just no delete.....

Have you tried formatting the drive, Formatting will delete everything on the drive, so if it has any needed files on it they will all be deleted.

Reformatting the drive is an option. Not the one I would prefer, as I will lose data from two of the PCs I would like to keep. There is one old PC I do not need the data from and it has 3 backup copies occupying many GB
