How do I rename Controller Information?

I want to get rid of the "2-" on "2- High Definition Audio Device" please list the steps I need to do. I have tried uninstalling the drivers, rebooting but it's the same name. These are generic Microsoft Audio Drivers not 3rd party such as realtek or creative.

The correct way is to install the correct hardware drivers (assuming there are correct hardware drivers) rather than use the generic, basic function, Windows installed High Defintion Audio drivers.
