How do I restore Office 2010 from Windows.old?

On 10/10 I had a Windows 7 update (win7 Home Premium 64 bit). When my PC restarted after the update I couldn't log into windows (got an error saying "No attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot" or something to that effect). I tried a system restore with the most recent restore point but that didn't work so I ended up reinstalling Windows 7.

The new install was successful and all of my old files and folders were moved to Windows.old. I was able to move all of my important documents and files, but I can't access any of the Windows Office 2010 products.

I downloaded Magical Jellybean and ProduKey to try to get my original Office 2010 Product key, figuring I could download the programs from microsoft and activate them using my original code. However, those two programs said that I didn't have permission/access and I was unable to locate my key.

Any suggestions on how to locate my Office 2010 product key from the windows.old folder or how to restore my office 2010 installation from the folder would be extremely helpful!!

I don't think there is any way to get the product key from your old files as the product key is not displayed anywhere.
Are you sure you can't find your original product key. I think that without that key you may have to buy a new key from Microsoft & then download the necessary version of Office.

I don't know how to help you with your current problem but I would suggest in the future keeping all product keys printed out or wrote down in a separate place other than just on your computer.
Hang in there. Others will drop by and maybe they can save you.
