I have a MSI GX640. it's default memory is the 2x2GB DDR3-1333 (Max 2x4GB) DDR3-1333 @ 9-9-9-24 Timings

Recently I decided to do upgrade my memory from the total of 4 gbs to 8gb

the type of memory i'm using is this
Then I started getting rampant BSOD. I wasn't sure what to do, so I did so did some research. I was told that the memory clock speed or something could be off. I used speccy to identify what I had, it says this.

If anyone see's anything wrong, or perhaps the clock speed is the problem, please let me know how to fix it. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this.

Welcome to Seven forums. When you upgraded the memory, did you buy a new set of memory or just add a stick to what was already there? Also, do you have the options in your bios to set frequency and timings of your memory. most notebooks do not. Please download and install CPUz. Post screenshots of the memory tab and for each of the dimm slots on the SPD tab. your SPD tab will have a selection for each dimm slot.

Hello essenbe. To answer your question, i bought a new set of memory. I removed the old memory, and put the new "8GB 4GBx2 DDR3 PC3-8500 1066MHz SODIMM" that's when the bsod became rampant, especially when gaming. As for the screenshot of cpu-z memory tab, this is it

and SPD slot 2

and my bios doesn't allow me to change frequency.

Thank you so much for your time and help

I know it's a pain, but follow the tutorial that Golden linked to. It takes a long time to run, but we've all been there. The problems starting when you changed ram, points to that, so this is the best test we have for testing ram. Run it for 8 passes or until you get errors. Try running both sticks in both slots and remember, we are looking for bad ram modules as well as bad dimm slots. We're trying to check for both. It takes quite a few hours to run 8 passes, I've foun the best time to do it is overnight.

Thank you very much for your help. I will run memtest and see what happens. I had already tried running both sticks and both slots, but the errors continued.
