ok on the pc where I go to collage I noticed that no mater what you do ( download, make a file such as a text file, or really anything at all you do, even if you change the mouse pointer speed ) once you log off everything resets back to the predetermined state the I.T. guys have created. meaning you lose everything you do.

I am wondering how to go about setting this up on my pc and also how to disable it when I need to change where I want it to restore to when logging out. I want to be able to let people to use my pc an have the pc to automatically delete everything they do an reset anything they change. I also need this to work for the "administrator" administrator account just incase the find out my password.

they are using win7 64bit I'm using win7 32bit

any help is welcome :)

Possible solution

Hi. I've used rollback software in the past including Comodo Time Machine and Toolwiz Time Freeze and had problems with both of them.

CTM worked well on a 32bit machine but because of the way it saved system snapshots in a special way in "free space" it wasn't possible to use disk defrag tools and needed to be uninstalled for each defrag then reinstalled so it wasn't ideal. Apparently there's no support for Windows 7 64bit and CTM is no longer being developed.

Toolwiz Time Freeze - tried it a few times and each install resulted in a non booting machine (wouldn't boot into windows).

Here's another solution that I came across but haven't actually used:

Free System and Disk Backup Software for Recovery | SysRestore

I've not used it and suspect that it may well suffer from the same problem as CTM relating to disk defrag so I can only suggest that if you or anyone else wants to install it - only do so if you have a system image backup that you can restore in the event of problems.
