How do I sort Start Menu items?

I would like to have all my Start Menu items (pinned and recently used) always be listed alphabetically.

I know and use the setting for "All Programs" but what about the Start Menu itself? How can I set it so that it displays the items sorted?

If that's the case, then that's really awful!

So they allow us to sort the All Programs menu, but not the Start menu. Nice. Real nice.

Not everything is perfect. They can't please everyone either.
