How do I stop windows from filling the entire screen?

Whenever I have multiple windows open and I try to slide one to the side to make room for the other, Windows 7 automatically causes the window to fill the screen. Is there a way to stop that?

You must be moving the window to close to the top, use Aero snap, grab the window by the right or left hand corner and pull it up to the right or left hand corner and it should automatically fill half the screen.

It`ll take some practice, but you`ll get it.

Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center -> Make The Mouse Easier To Use -> check box to "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen". Click OK to exit.

Thanks for the information, it was one of those obscure (to me) settings that can only be found if you already know where it is.
Now I know where it is and it's easy to change.

You can also use the "Windows Logo key + Left Arrow" or "Windows Logo key + Right Arrow" to snap windows to the sides of your screen.

"Windows Logo key + Up Arrow" makes a window fullscreen (Maximise).
