How do I take ownership of SYSTEM account files?

HI there

I Restored my laptop from a system image from 2010, after letting "HP softpaq download manager" install drivers that made my computer almost unresponsive.

now I have a problem where some of the files and folders are owned by the 1337 mofo called SYSTEM and is proving to be a pain, it has taken over one of the folders which malwarebytes uses to create temp stuff.

so i did the most logical thing and take ownership, but i activated its trap card. 'I only have permission to view the current owner on "etc"' well i wasn't too disappointed. I did a little research of my own and found that i can run cmd.exe as the 1337 mofo. i did just that and ran "TAKEOWN /F "C:" /R /A" and i like what i saw, untill all hell broke loose.

now its out of my hands, I'm not gonna bother getting fresh with windows 7 anymore, so I'm SOS-ing. I Ned help SevenForums.

Restore from the 2010 system image, nothing else will be simpler or quicker or even possible.
