Hello sheffieldyorky
Never tried those two destinations, but experience suggests to me to try the Shuttlebus. By Shuttlebus, there is no direct connection between those two destinations, so you have to change at Manhattan. The Shuttlebus company is privately owned, and called NYC Airporter (now called NYC Express Bus). The parent company is called Golden Touch Transportation.
From their Website, Buses run every 20 minutes from 9am to 11pm, from Newark Airport.
Buses depart from terminal A, B, or C, near the baggage claim area(s).
Ticket prices are on the website. Ticket prices include two suitcases and handluggage per adult. Family tickets are at a discount.
If reservinga ticket online, then print two copies, one for each leg of the journey.
Total journey time approx 90 minutes.

It all depends on what you are looking for, me after a long flight wouldn't get in a yellow cab as they are cramped, I much prefer getting a town car and stretching out, I normally just call one of the preprogrammed numbers from the airport phones when I get there, but you can pre-book online before and they don't cost much more than a yellow cab.

Hi there Iko
Many thanks for getting back to me
When I get back on my desktop tower I will pull those sites up.
I have been to Newark ( EWR ) before but i have never been to John F Kennedy ( JFK )
And as a Yorkshireman I firmly don't believe in spending money
Kind regards
Tony
P.S It is Sheffieldyorky not yorkie they are a little terier dog
Thanks anyway

Hi there
Thanks for your contribution.
News to me about "cramped conditions", I'll take that on-board.
As stated above I have researched cab & Uber fares between EWR & JFK and as a Yorkshireman my money stays where it is.
When I get back I will update this thread with the details and costings etc.
Probably that may help other members.
Kind regards
Tony

Right people
Now I am going to give all the nitty gritty and moving about New York airports etc.
>
To save typing I will be using airport codes
Newark Liberty International Airport = EWR
John F. Kennedy International Airport = JFK
LaGuardia Airport =LGA

Yellow cab from EWR to JFK $100
Uber hire from EWR to JFK $100 approx.
Private hire / limousine $120 +

The above prices are what I found out while waiting at EWR
Although I never heard anything about LGA

Originally I was going to get the Air train from EWR to Newark Liberty Airport Station change and then get the train to Newark Penn Station change and go to New York Penn Station
From there change again and head towards Jamacia Station change and board the air train to JFK.
I was told varying amounts from $7 to $35.
For an explanation of the above please see "rail-connections.pdf.
I was on my way to sort the various payments / tickets out and happed to ask a group of very nice New York Transit Police.
As one they all chimed in why don't you take the GROUND TRANSPORTATION (sorry for the uppercase) they told me to go from EWR to JFK $34 please see the Ground Transportation attachment's.
You have to outbound EWR to JFK and the inbound JFK to EWR.
The Ground Transportation desk is very easy to find and any airport staff member will tell you the location
You will see that I have attached an EWR Air Train pdf.
Please do not be led into a false sense of security by thinking that you can see all the relevant stations and its "just a matter of hopping of one onto another" NO SO
The easiest and cheapest way is to take Ground Transportation.
BUT it gets better not only will Ground Transportation take you to the airports but they will take you to your designated hotel although I don't know the full price range on that, although I did overhear $34 to a hotel in Manhattan from EWR, and before you ask, to Manhattan (upper east side) shortest route 19.3 miles 51 mins, I can remember the name of the hotel.
I have brought home a very large map of Railroad, with bus, subway and other rail connections.
On the other side is New York City Subway map.
This stretches from the "Westchester / Bronx border in the North to Coney Island in the South
Hudson River in the West all the way out to Queens Village / Hollis / JFK / Far Rockaway / Long Beach
All the underlined locations have been checked on the large map and Google maps.
If a Forum member requires me to scan a section of map I will obviously do that.
So the ideal scenario would be go onto Google maps find out where your starting point is and then your finishing point and then post your requirements.
This map measures 36" x 24" so I can't scan it in total on a A4 scanner but I am will to do it in segments.
If any body has any questions whatsoever please ask.
Tony

Ground Transportation sounds a lot cheaper than Uber or Yellow Cab.
When I was told the price ( $34.00 ) I was absolutely amazed.
Outbound there was only me inbound there was 10 people all going from JFK to EWR
So $34.00 x 10 = $340.00 that's when they make the money.
See both inbound and outbound tickets.
I was not stuffed in a small transit like vehicle I was sat on a comfortable seat and there was room for luggage at the rear.
I forgot to mention Ground Transportation are written in big blue lettering at both airports if you fail to see it just ask any airport employee for the desk.
I hope my information has been of some help.
I'm sure that the Forum members who live in New York and area will agree with my findings.
:D

The information is quite useful as I would like to visit NYC one day.

To further add to this thread. I saw a YouTube video about what you should expect if you visit NYC and the rip offs, tourist traps and what not and found out the ferry is free. Yet there are people that will sell you fake tickets. LOL

To further add to the "fake tickets".
If anybody decides not to go with Ground Transportation and is wandering towards to the exit be on the lookout for "unregistered taxi drivers".
The P.A system is constantly warning you about them.
They do not carry "hire and reward insurance" nor are they allowed to pick up passing trade.
I am still trying to work out which would be the best way to scan the very large map of Railroad, with bus, subway and other rail connections.
On the other side is New York City Subway map.
This stretches from the
"Westchester / Bronx border in the North to Coney Island in the
South

Hudson River in the West all the way out to Queens Village /
Hollis / JFK / Far Rockaway / Long Beach

It needs to be done so when
somebody prints it off it looks like this;
A1 right hand edge goes straight
to A2 left hand edge etc.
This map measures 36" x 24" so I can't scan it in
total on a A4 scanner

I have found this which is exactly the same https://www.mta.info/sites/default/files/archive/pdfs/subway_web_full_map_Jun10.pdf

Then MTA Railroads North
MNR Map

Then Long Island Railroad
MTA LIRR - LIRR Map

I was scanning my map when I though just check online after inserting the correct wording here you have it.
If anybody wants a particular scanned section please reply to this thread
