How do you install as admin

I have a program to install. But I can't seem to install it because I don't have admin privileges in vista I right-click and run as admin however in windows 7 there is no such option what do I do?
Is there another way? in vista this was much easier. Even though it was still annoying.

Hi, even in Win7, there is an option to Run as admin in right click. I guess you're logged on as a limited user.

One other way in Windows 7 to change the user on a single run is to Shift-Right-Click. One of the extended menu options is Run as another user.

This is also useful if you, as Admin wish to check operation of an application as another user ;)

it's not working and the odd thing is now I am the administrator none of the solutions worked. I can't install the program as an admin even though I am logged in as admin.

upgrade. You are talking about the windows 7 correct? If so then yes upgrade. from vista to windows 7

Is this a .EXE file or an .MSI - I know there are differences with MSI installer which basically means they do not get the correct context menu. The requirement should be built into the MSI file

If it is an MSI file the only way I know to do this is to temporarily disable UAC to run everything as an admin.

If it is a .EXE file you should be able to right click-properties and on the compatibility tab select Run as Administrator

it is indeed a msi file. I did it disabled the UAC or removed it and now it works. Thanks. I guess I'll put it on back after I'm done.
