How do you use your cell phone?

I don't make or receive many calls or texts....just as well since I have a prepaid phone. I do like texting, because like email, you can proofread before you send....but since I don't have a QWERTY phone, I still don't do it that often(numeric keypad texting sucks!).

I do use the alarm function on it, and it is a watch/calendar for me as well. And as others have said, the caller ID is handy too....sometimes I don't want to talk to certain people.

Up until about a week ago, my usage was 100% for calls. However, I just got a smartphone so my usage is changing, I'd guess my usage of this phone will break down to about 20% phone, 80% web. Part of that web use is to tether my laptop to the phone so I can have web access on my laptop when traveling in the RV. I still have no use for texting and hate when someone sends me one since my plan doesn't include texts, each one costs me an extra 10 cents.

I used to buy my kids watches for gifts and such but they would never wear them as they prefer to use their phone for the time. I always wear a wristwatch and find it far easier to glance at my wrist than to pull out my phone to see the time.

60% texting, 15% Email , 10% calls (I hate talking on the phone), 5% pics, 5% backup alarm clock, 3% guitar chord reference app, 1% internet (really just if I need to look at something on the fly) .5% NES/Game Boy emulation and .5% Ipod (I have a regular iPod as well). I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G

I just leave it on for incoming calls, so I guess 100% talking.

Mines not a smartphone, but it does have the slide out keyboard. I always have it with me, but it doesn't really matter because I can go a week without using it at all. Me and my kid text back and forth sometimes, I use the web on it occasionally if I get bored but only because I have Opera Mini on it....the native browsers suck on phones.


I'm on a prepaid plan with a small amount of minutes, unlimited text and web. Can't complain, the occasional phone call and text are plenty for me. I hate talking much on phones period.

I have had a cell phone for several years now, but my parents didn't get me texting till the beginning of sophomore year. I am a junior now, and I can't stand not having texting when my phone dies. lol it's sad i know.

PS Oh yeah, I almost forgot my FAVORITE feature --- my cell phone has a 'tip calculator' which I LOVE. Not being much of a mathematician, it is so great to be able to punch in a couple of numbers and instantly know how much the tip will be

We have a better real life app for that in Australia - No tipping.
