how I can use the DVD windows recovery ?

I have laptop with windows 7 home premum 64 bit .
when I bought my laptop I made 4 DVDs ,3 DVD recovery windows and one DVD wore in it ( you can use this disc to access system recovery option that can help you recovery your computer from a serious error )
my question is how i can use these DVDs to restore my system ?
note : I have 2 laptop. one for me and the other for my sister
my computer work slaw but my sister's computer doesn't boot

What are the brand and model numbers of the laptops? With this, we may be able to lookup the factory recovery instructions for you.

For now, you would usually boot from disk 1 to start the recovery process.

The 3 recovery DVDs are specific for your computer. They contain everything to return your computer to factory specifications just like the day you bought it. They probably won't work on any other computer.

If you have your BIOS set to boot from the optical drive as first choice, and if your computer starts up, you can insert Disk 1, power on the computer, and it will automatically use Disk 1 to begin the recovery process. When it finishes with Disk 1 it will prompt you to insert Disk 2, and then Disk 3. At the end of the process your machine should be back to factory specs.

If your computer does NOT start up, you could hopefully use that 4th DVD to rescue or repair the computer by accessing different repair functions similar to this Windows 7 system repair disk.

I don't know for sure if your 4th DVD can be successfully used on a different computer.

Here is the link below for how to do a factory restore with Toshiba. You would just need to scroll down in it to view the different available options for the one you want to use. For example, with your recovery discs, or recovery partition on the HDD.

Let us know if you have problems running Recovery from it's partition or the disks.

If it fails you can order new disks from Toshiba, or you can Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - everything you need is in the link.

Yes. When doing a factory restore, it puts the HDD back to how it was at factory conditions. I would recommend to backup anything that you do not want to lose to a separate drive.

Hello .. Thank you for the wonderful forum has benefited a lot from it. I've retrieved from the Windows DVD in my computer and has had a successful operation and became my computer as new. Did not lose my data in partion d: . I chose the second option, which will restore the windows, without prejudice to d:, as the first 3 options Henk eliminates all partions and return a new computer and the second and the third does not eliminate the partions .. But I unfortunately was not able to restore Windows to my sister's computer because the function keys did not work I could press the F-2 for transmission of the booting screen menue ... Is there a way to repair the function keys??? Or to the installation of an external keyboard and use it temporarily .. Thank you much

Does the F2 key work to get into BIOS setup? If so what happens when you set the DVD drive to boot first? Do you get a prompt to "Press any key to boot CD?"

If you cannot get into BIOS setup then reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

You can also try marking the Recovery partition Active to see if Recovery will start when rebooted: Mark Partition Active - Method Two. If you use the Win7 Installation DVD to do this then you can also rescue any stranded files this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
