Solved How I might obtain drivers on a cd-rom for future use?
I purchased a Dell Inspiron laptop that came with Windows 8. I wiped Windows 8 and installed Windows 7. There were drivers missing and my wife took the laptop to my computer shop and had them install the necessary drivers.
I don't have a clue as to what drivers are needed or what ones were installed.
I would like to be able to download the drivers and write them to a cd-rom where I could use them if I ever have to reinstall Windows 7.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks
James

Hi there ... It would be better to make a System Image to an External Drive .. That would be the easiest way

Macrium Reflect is an excellent free tool to carry out what Maxie has suggested.

jrj350, Have you checked with Dell for the drivers? They have them by Service Tag code. Usually easy as pie..

This. The first thing I do when a new mobo or complete system is on its way to my house from Newegg is download and save all the needed drivers in advance. My Win 7 disc had no LAN drivers for my Gigabyte board, so I needed to download and save them to disc from the Gigabyte website before I took delivery.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. O.K., I took the "System Image" route. That was pretty simple solution. Thanks for setting me on the right track.
