How many installs of 7 since beta release?

Sadly, I only jumped on the Win7 bandwagon back in November or December.

I cannot say exactly how many, because I too have lost count....

I do remember installing 1 build at least 7 different times.....and I have been through 5 builds, currently on #6....

This is all great but we are going to be forking over the $299 or $399 the first week it comes out RTM. After using the full-featured versions, I don't think anything but the retail - full - ultimate is going to make me happy. I guess we have plenty of time to save our money.

Same here but 3 or 4 installs per build per architecture (x86 and x64) and add some other builds:

LOL.. I still have all the above builds saved on my 1TB external. I'm a beta fanatic I guess.

BTW builds 7068 and 7077 provides the best stability and performance of all the builds at least till now

Tedious is what it is..
Having decided that i will keep using Win 7 as my main system, and will swap over to the 32 bit version when the RC appears, my Win7 appraisal mission has been accomplished, for now.

Mine too....I have decided it's the best OS MS has produced to date and i'm switching. I just hope it does not turn into a "longhorn"....I think we're past that now but....you never know. I will be using it anyway. I have grown quite fond of it.

I've upgraded three times on my laptop and done one clean install over XP on a friend's.

I've got the feeling that I'll be doing quite a few installs for other people soon.

You should be asking how many times have you installed or reinstalled if not repair installed XP. I lost count between my own and other systems people had there! :shock:

For 7 let's now... the 32bit 7000 so far saw saw the intitial installation replaced to see the XP/7 dual boot since the first was over to the XP drive while booted in Vista at the time. 2 there plus the unlocked 32/64 Home Premium each only 1. The 64bit Ultimate 7000 saw 2 with a second on an ide drive added in later to see 7068 replace that now unplugged leaving a grand total there of "5"! for the 7000.

The 7068 did see a second install with the first going on the present stand alone for the x86 7077 while the ide was still in use. 7068 x64 wasn't still trying to get online with the x64 7000. 7068=2

One each for the 7077! As a general rule I rarely have to wipe a drive once a clean install is seen in working shape. Vista has seen about 5 total since it came out from swapping drives(ide to sata) along with one repair install back in 2007! Even that sees a better track record then XP!

Yes been through nearly all the installs both 32X and 64X . Cannot wait for the final OS so I can give my poor old dvd writer a break
USe rewritable dvds saves the money and they work fine

6956 = once (One week and half before Christmas - Main Computer)
7000 = once (Mid-February - Main Computer)
7067 = Once (Virtual Machine)

I haven't kept 7000 because I had a problem after a reboot that my machine wouldn't boot at all even after a restore point restoration (before the install of the faulty program) and a system repair... had to format and I went back to Vista.

I installed 7067 on a Virtual Machine for the fun (768 MB of RAM) and the VHD is still there. I haven't touched it much since that it sux ass (perf wise - Once core of Core 2 and 768MB of RAM with a bad 3D acceleration chip (no aero)).

*sigh*

I MIGHT consider doing a dualboot but the thing is I just don't want to risk all my audio files in the process.

A dual boot that's all? Out of 4 sata and a single ide hard drive 3 of the 5 total see a dual boot setup on each! One of the 5 should reduce that to 3 out 4 due to being strictgly used for storage. The one seeing the latest 7077 x86 installation will eventually be 7's new home!
