I have a confusion regarding kilobytes and kilobits and megabytes and megabits? Can someone explain please

Thats the link that confused me. I finally found a way to measure my internet speed in kilobits. Just have to go to speedtest.net Click Settings Change the speed measurement to kilobits. Solved. Thanks for the answers

or just download a file from your local server and usually it'll be the max download speed in KB .

Yes it is an easy explanation, ,made easy because it is wrong.

1 megabyte =1000kilobytes ? Statements like this have confused end users for years, especially over hard drive capacities after formatting.

1MB = 1024KB which in kilobits is 128, not 125 as on the google page.

Wrong.

1 MB (megabyte) = 1024 KB (kilobytes) = 8192 kb (kilobits).

Bytes to bits: multiply with 8
Bits to bytes: divide with 8
