Solved How prevent icons from periodically disappearing from my Desktop

I have five icons that systematically disappear from my Desktop. They are:

1. My Specific printer shortcut for 'Devices and Printers' folder
2. My CD Drive shortcut from 'Computer'
3. My "Computer' shortcut
4. My 'Sound" shortcut from the Control Panel
5. My 'System' shortcut from the Control Panel

I want to mention that I have custom icons for these five items - but I doubt that that is the reason they're disappearing. Hope someone can tell me how to keep this from happening!!
