How see real path of virtual drive

On a certain computer, in Windows 7, Windows Explorer, Windows Workgroup, I see a network Drive letter of, for example, "W". I happen to know that this is a virtual drive that actually points to a certain directory on my local C Drive (C:\.Data\BrowerBack). I happened to give this share a name of "BrowerBack". My question is this:

Today, I know where this W drive points to, but two months from now I may not. How can you tell where a virtual drive is actually pointing to? One would think you could right click on the virtual drive and in properties it would tell you what the actual path name is, but if this is possible, I don't see it. It give you the the share name but not the actual path. How can one determine what the actual path is for a vertual (mapped) drive?

If you goto the drive it self you will see that it will say Network > Your Computer your connected too > Name of the Folder. Now click too the right of this and it will say \\compuer\folder.

Thank you for your efforts to help. Are you using Windows 7? I am not seeing on my Windows 7 Computer what you suggest. When you say "If you go to the drive itself" What do you mean? I assume you mean in Windows Explorer. The drive is listed in two places: under Computer and also under Network. Regardless, If I move to the drive and click to the right of the drive name I do not see anything that references the folder path. I see the share name, but it's not the share name I'm interested in. What I would like to know is the actual path that the share name points to. In Windows Explorer I am looking at things in Details view.

Thebest way that I have found to display this info is to use the "NET USE" command.

net use z: \\webserver\dell_f

then open Computer, I see this:

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. The "NET USE" command without any arguments will return a list of the currently mapped drives.

This is what I'm offering as a solution to wsplawn's problem with determining where a virtual drive is mapped.

on the windows side I have a network drive:

\\myhome.tech.school.edu\home

any idea how I can map this to the mac side?
