How should I go about doing this ?

Hey

Currently I'm running a 500GB HDD on my HP laptop. MY laptop can take two drives. I want to format the 500GB, and install my 80GB Intel SSD in my laptop. So I would have 2 drives in my system.

How should I go about installing Windows 7 on this setup ? Are there any guides ? I know how to partition and all that. But my main concern has to do with getting the best possible space out of my SSD.

I know a good idea is to only use the SSD for the OS and perhaps some important everyday programs. What should I use my 500GB drive for then ?

Just want a simple way of doing this. I want to take full advantage of my drives.

The standard advice would be to put the OS and ALL programs on the SSD unless you have some oddball situation where they would not fit.

Then put all of your data on the 500.

Most likely one partition on each drive--C for the SSD and D for the HDD.

If you have very little data, it might fit on the SSD, in which case you could omit the HDD or use it as a backup drive.

That's interesting config to have two drives...i can have that aswell on my mini ssd pci-e slot but one thing is the 500gb drive to backup data on the same laptop is pretty annoying in case of drive fails, crash, stollen lappy...
