How small is small

Looking over the new Sandy Bridge specs, the 32nm (nano meter) technology caught my interest. How small is that really?

Well, if you assumed that the distance from the earth to the moon (which is about equivalent to 9 times around the equator) were 1 meter, then 32 nm would be about 10 centimeters or 4 inches - amazing.

No mickey - if you took the distance to the moon as base unit, 32nm of that would be 10cm or 4" - or in other words, 32 billionth of the distance to the moon is 10cm (appr.).
